A Groundswell for Change

We Haven't Just Moved. We've Merged!

Check out the website of the new National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition.

The National Campaign for Sustainable Agriculture (NCSA) was launched in 1994 to provide a national forum for developing and promoting federal sustainable agriculture policy. NCSA was a working alliance of partner organizations that brought together many interests and voices, from large national groups, to tiny grassroots associations like markets and food purchasing co-ops. Joining together with consumers, environmentalists, wildlife advocates, educational institutions, religious institutions, community food security groups, civil rights activists, and rural community groups, NCSA built a powerful grass roots voice with the breadth and unity essential to bring about change in federal farm policy.farmers

On January 1, 2009 the respective governing bodies of the National Campaign for Sustainable Agriculture and the Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (SAC) voted to merge the two organizations.  The Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, formed in the 1980s, was a national coalition with farmer based grassroots support and a strong and effective DC presence.

The newly created National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition will give voice to the broad and vital grassroots efforts across the country to bring real change in policies for a more sustainable agriculture.  The timing is right to bring fresh ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to a changed atmosphere in Washington.
